Written by Mathhew Herschler and John Cruz One of these days in my own front yard I'm gonna sit on my porch and rock Walk on by if you see me sitting there Or you can stop and talk One of these days Some folks think that living is sleeping in the city Bringing home buckets of cash Others, we're happy just sitting back Not thinking 'bout who's coming in last Me I just don't know where all the bustle's gonna lead Got a bunch of nothing happening fast But there's one thing I know, whether we go fast or slow One of these days in my own front yard Gonna sit on my porch and rock Walk on by if you see me sitting there Or you can stop and talk One of these days in my own front yard Gonna sit on my porch and rock Walk on by if you see me sitting there Or you can stop and talk One of these days Some folks think that living is sleeping in the city Bringing home buckets of cash Others, we're happy just sitting back Not thinking 'bout who's coming in last Me I just don't know where all the bustle's gonna lead Got a bunch of nothing happening fast But there's one thing I know, whether we go fast or slow One of these days One of these days in my own front yard Gonna sit on my porch and rock Walk on by if you see me sitting there Or you can stop and talk One of these days

Written by John Cruz She's never sentimental to my reasoning That's one thing about her I shouldn't but I let it get to me oh and She thinks I shouldn't doubt her But every time I try to say what's on my mind She's never got the time to listen to me If that's the way it's gonna be then I don't think there's any reason to doubt her If that's the way she wants it That's the way it's gonna be If that's the way she wants it That's alright with me If that's the way she wants it Let her be what she wants to be She's always making promises You know she is always making believe She's always taking chances Always doing just about whatever she please Who am I to try to change her Maybe that's the way it is That's the way it's gonna be I don't know what's best for her But I think what is right is that I just gotta let her be If that's the way she wants it That's the way it's gonna be If that's the way she wants it That's alright with me If that's the way she wants it Let her be what she wants to be Every time I try to say what's on my mind She's never got the time to listen to me If that's the way it's gonna be then I don't think there's any reason to doubt her If that's the way she wants it That's the way it's gonna be If that's the way she wants it, that's alright with me

Hurricane 03:59
Written by Matthew and Mark Herschler Woke up feeling good today Everything's gonna go my way The question isn't if at all, just when I'm so tired of the same old fight Work so hard and nothing comes out right But it sure feels good to be back on my feet again Hey, I feel like things might go my way When I stop to think it starts to rain Hey, I feel so good I wanna seize the day But it might be the eye of a hurricane It just might be the eye of a hurricane One and one and one makes three But it don't make no sense to me From nowhere there appears to be a calm I feel good and I ain't looking back It's a hell of a sign, I've gotta keep on track I was down, now I'm back on my feet again Hey, I feel like things might go my way When I stop to think it starts to rain Hey, I feel so good I wanna seize the day But it might be the eye of a hurricane It just might be the eye of a hurricane Woke up feeling good today Everything's gonna go my way The question isn't if at all, just when I'm so tired of the same old fight Work so hard and nothing comes out right But it sure feels good to be back on my feet again Hey, I feel like things might go my way When I stop to think it starts to rain Hey, I feel so good I wanna seize the day But it might be the eye of a hurricane It just might be the eye of a hurricane

Missing You 04:39
Written by John Cruz Lying all alone late at night in my bed I was all full of feelings Had pictures of you in my head I was thinking about the springtime You and me on the beach My heart was open I held out my hand But you didn't even reach I'm all dressed up, nowhere to go I go to the movies but the theater is so cold I sit there by myself, sipping on my Coke Movie stars are making love and My heart is broken I've been missing you I've been missing you Last time I saw you I was so confused Things that I thought I had I found out I could lose But I don't want to be demanding I wouldn't do that to you I won't be waiting outside your window Watching you at a quarter past two I'm all dressed up, nowhere to go I go to the movies but the theater is so cold I sit there by myself, sipping on my Coke Movie stars are making love and My heart is broken I've been missing you I've been missing you

Dream Song 04:01
Written by Heather Goff Last night I had the sweetest dream about you Last night I had the sweetest dream about you You took me home and we talked until late You touched my face, said we were meant to be Our fingers entwined, my head upon your shoulder Why oh why do these dreams tease me so 'Cuz all these months I've been watching from a distance When our eyes meet, you walk on by Why can't we be like the earth and the ocean Licking overlapping, he cradles she caresses Then she sings her sweet lullaby to melt me away Last night I had the sweetest dream about you Last night I had the sweetest dream about you But I've been told that these dreams they don't come true I've got a feeling that this dream it won't be you 'Cuz all these months I've been watching from a distance When our eyes meet, I get tongue tied Why can't we be like the earth and the ocean Licking overlapping, he cradles she caresses Then she sings her sweet lullaby to melt me away Last night I had the sweetest dream about you

Written by John Cruz Further is in front of you Our love is behind Forward's what you want to do Don't get left in time Our love is like gravity From our eyes we drown When the river's deep enough The weight just pulls you down Sinking and your heart becomes the weight It's getting heavy plan for your escape Sinking and your heart becomes the weight It's not the end so plan for your escape It's not the end of you It's not the end of me It's only the beginning Of what will never be Now's the time to move ahead Step out from the past Find a way to levitate 'Cuz now we're sinking fast Sinking and your heart becomes the weight It's getting heavy plan for your escape Sinking and your heart becomes the weight It's not the end so plan for your escape Our love is gone Now we must make it on our own But following our fate Eventually we'll shed this weight We've been thinking Now we're sinking Sinking and your heart becomes the weight It's getting heavy plan for your escape Sinking and your heart becomes the weight It's getting heavy plan for your escape

Let Us Dream 05:48
Written by John Cruz Made bright by light Let us dream beamed For too long a time it finally seemed Tattered not taught never to have thought That maybe it wasn't a dream Raisin clouds covering overhead Giving light to everything that he said Not knowing of snow thinking possibly rain But definitely cool he waited and then His knowledge it came automatic The voice that he made was chromatic The longer he lived the more he could give a damn About something he knew nothing about But let him dream Made bright by light Let us dream beamed For too long a time it finally seemed Tattered not taught never to have thought It was just a dream Raisin clouds covering overhead Giving life to everything that he said Not knowing of snow thinking possibly rain Everybody's cool, we're just waiting Our knowledge it comes automatic The voices we make are chromatic The longer we live the more we should give a damn About something 'cuz we know nothing we know nothing But let us dream

Written by Joe Keenan My baby's gone, she done gone away I don't know if she's gonna stay My clothes all tattered and my mind is spent A week behind the paper now A month behind the rent Why she left, the only thing I know Sometimes a woman, she just got to go I ain't got no letter she sent A week behind the paper now A month behind the rent Don't you know it's a crying shame When your baby leaves You got so much pain My clothes all tattered and my mind is spent A week behind the paper now A month behind the rent People say why do you sing the blues Haven't you heard, haven't you heard the news Your baby's back, she's been looking for her gent Better throw away those papers boy, better pay your rent Or you'll wind up like me living in a tent My baby's gone, she done gone away I don't know if she's gonna stay My clothes all tattered and my mind is spent A week behind the paper now A month behind the rent

about

Following more than 10 years of anticipation after the release of his top-selling, debut album "Acoustic Soul," John rolled out album number two in September 2007. It was well worth the wait.

Winner of the 2008 Nā Hōkū Hanohano award for Contemporary Album of the Year, "One of These Days" consists of 11 songs, which like "Acoustic Soul," John self-produced. For this project, the Hawaiian singer-songwriter pulled back no punches gathering a bevy of industry heavyweights and recording the project at Jackson Browne’s famed Groove Masters studio in Los Angeles with engineering by Grammy Award-winner, Mark Johnson.

Legendary musicians Paulinho da Costa, Jeff Bhasker, Greg Leisz, James Gadson, Reggie McBride, Glenn Worf and Nir Z instantly clicked with John in the studio supporting the music in stellar fashion, brilliantly illuminating John and this powerful collection of songs ranging from bluesy rock to heartfelt ballads, esoteric folk, a Hawaiian classic and even pop R&B.

Filled with warmth, grit and relevance, “One of These Days” stands the test of time taking listeners on a soulful journey stretching far and wide.
